Doctor Pousti uses the tumescent technique, in which body fat resistant to diet and exercise is pre injected with a solution of salt water, local anesthetic and small amounts of adrenaline. Larger amounts of fat can be safely removed with this technique. This technique allows for enhanced local anesthesia and reduced blood loss. Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the United States today. Modern liposuction technique allows for removal of greater amounts of fat in a gentler, safer fashion with less post-operative pain, bruising and swelling. Liposuction does not replace or serve as a substitute for good diet and exercise.
